Welcome to Normandy, the world’s leading producer of fibre flax.
Mathilde and Benoît, who have been growing flax for several generations, welcome you to the Saint-Vaast farm, 10 minutes south of Caen.
Mathilde will introduce you to the history of flax, key statistics, the farm itself, flax cultivation, flax processing, textiles and technical applications. You’ll use all your senses to discover the seven crops, including flax (seeds, oil, straw, fibre, shives, etc.). You’ll watch two films: one filmed on the farm, ‘Flax from Sowing to Scutching’, and another showcasing research and innovative technical applications in the flax industry. You’ll then explore the farm and the agricultural machinery.
Finally, our shop awaits you: linen clothing, bed linen and table linen, linen home décor items, bags, jewellery, baby items, T-shirts, socks, scarves…
