Observatoire Piscicole des Claies de Vire
Since 2002, the FDAAPPMA de la Manche has operated a counting station at Les Claies de Vire, in the commune of La Meauffe, for the scientific monitoring of migratory populations (Atlantic salmon, sea trout, shad). Two viewing windows in the walls of the last basin of the fish pass enable automatic observation and recording of passages on a computer, and a trapping device enables sampling of the shad population.
