Xavier Noël is an ornamental gilder. Honored with numerous awards, while strictly adhering to the techniques of this art form, he has developed a singular body of work. He focuses on ancient rural and maritime legends. Taking his cue from the innumerable boats hanging in maritime churches, he proposes an installation that pays tribute to both marine carpenters and fishermen.
