The Rucher des Authieux is unique in many ways, but the most distinctive thing is the breeding of bees in a natural habitat without any chemical treatments which allows it to be certified organic.
The apiary selects a breed a local black honeybee. The harvest is certified organic as it doesn't apply any chemical treatments on the colonies.
This farm, with a human scale, organises guided tours wearing beekeeping protective clothes and for children aged 3+ to tell more about its principles concerning the protection of plants and wildlife.
“I started beekeeping in 2015 because I was passionate about bees and I fell under the spell of those beautiful honey bees and more generally of nature and the environment. That is how the educational and participatory beekeeping project started. Then things developed over the years as we kept working seriously and producing the very best bee products. Even today, this passion has never left me, because, frankly, our black Norman honeybees are worth it.” Laurent.
Educational and participatory bee farm open to visitors from April to October (depending on the behaviour of the bees) from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm, and Sundays by appointment. Guided tours. The Rucher des Authieux also provides cooking classes and has a shop (honey, propolis, pollen, honey cooking products).
