The oldest Jewish monument in Western Europe is also known as "Maison Sublime" (the Sublime House). An important heritage and architectural treasure built around 1100. This rectangular building made with stones from Caumont has impressive dimensions: 9.50 metres (31 ft) wide and 14.10 metres (46 ft) long. Only the ground floor has been well-preserved, the other floors have been levelled for the construction of the Parliament of Normandy, which started in 1499.
