Evreux, capital city of the Eure in Normandy, is located halfway between Paris and the Norman coast. The historic centre of Evreux is a pleasant place to have a walk. The Episcopal City consists in Notre-Dame Cathedral and the former Bishop's Palace, which now houses the museum. Continue your visit with the main square that opens onto the town hall, the Italian-style theatre, the "maison des arts" (House of Arts)..., and onto the last Norman belfry. The latter opens onto the promenade along the banks of the river Iton and its Gallo-Roman fortification wall. Do not miss also the Capucins Cloister, a monastic building, nestled in the heart of the public garden, and Saint Taurinus' Church with its remarkable 13th century reliquary box.
