Espace Naturel Départemental : le sentier de la Bergeronnette

This 2.4 km walk follows the River Iton through pastures and forests. 800 m of the trail is accessible to people with reduced mobility and strollers.
You may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse, in the flesh and in feathers, of the brook wagtail. This bird will be your companion as you discover the ecosystem of its environment.
This former metallurgical site on the banks of the River Iton boasts a remarkable wealth of natural resources. Its renaturation in 2015 has turned it into an exceptional place where characteristic flora and fauna meet, with many uncommon and even rare species (red-eyed naiad, calopteryx, oriole, wagtail, etc.).
Along the way, 11 educational panels will help you discover some of the original features of the wetlands along the Iton, as well as reminders of ancient human activities that have now completely disappeared.
Here and there, you’ll spot cows and sheep (eco-pasture), dragonflies, trout, butterflies, spotted woodpeckers, ducks and moorhens. Admire the remains of the furnace, the washhouse, the mill with its fish ladder and the Château de Condé.
