La Chaumière group gîte in the Iton valley comprises 2 charming, fully renovated buildings: La Maison and La Chaumière. The rental includes both buildings, but La Chaumière can be rented on its own on request. A large 2-hectare plot of land bordered by the River Iton is available to guests. The nearby forest will be the starting point for your many walks, bike rides and horseback rides. The old world charm has been preserved to keep the soul of this property, which has been made comfortable and easy to live in. The house sleeps 9 in 4 bedrooms, and the thatched cottage can accommodate up to 7 people in its 3 bedrooms. The entire property can accommodate up to 15 people.
The house has been renovated to create a harmonious indoor-outdoor environment, so as to fully immerse oneself in the typical architecture of the region. The bucolic country garden is enlivened by birdsong and the presence in the meadow of sheep and chickens from the neighboring farm. You’ll love the open-plan kitchen, ideal for preparing meals using local produce. A herb patch near each house also invites you to get closer to nature to season your meals. A generous, easy-to-live-in living space is a major asset for a stay with family or friends.
The interior is warm and inviting, created with mostly antique objects to create an authentic and reassuring atmosphere. It was imagined by the owner, an interior designer at Galeries Lafayette in Paris. The living room is the ideal place to recharge your batteries while listening to music, or to disconnect from city life in front of a roaring fire. The blue bedroom on the first floor has a private bathroom with shower and WC. Upstairs, you’ll find 3 double bedrooms in soft, soothing colors and a single alcove bed. These are complemented by a bathroom with lion-foot bathtub and separate toilet.
The thatched cottage is a rare and authentic place where original materials have been preserved (thatch, old bricks, half-timbering, double farm doors). The terrace, with its breathtaking view over the meadow and the animals, will be your meeting place to enjoy the simple things in life. Designed as a vacation home, the thatched cottage also boasts vintage details that lend a unique tone to the entire property. One of the three bright, comfortable bedrooms is on the first floor.
On-site wellness area:
Nordic bath: in the open air, bathe in water heated to between 38 and 40 degrees.1 per weekend. 100 ? extra for the second (6-8 pers.).

Sauna: designed in thermo-heated wood, it offers a vast view over the meadow ( 6-8 pers ) activity at will. (adjoining changing room and shower room).Activity room: A 40m² space to design your courses or workshops. (up to 12 people for a yoga class). Relaxation area: Warm and comfortable, it can accommodate up to 12 people.
