The Domaine de l'Hostellerie is the story of an encounter, a shared passion and a desire to change life.
It is the desire to create a place where people would feel at home, a place that would bring them calm and serenity.
It is also the desire to meet and exchange with people from all over the world. Exchanges are more risky in English, I must admit, but we are actively working on it!
It's also the desire to discover our beautiful region, Normandy, where we both come from.
Both of us? That's us, Lise and Gilles.
After more than a year of research, it was in 2016 that we fell in love with this area. Its location, its majesty, its old stones of Caen, its calm and its potential, everything seduced us.
After a move and the arrival of our little daughter Noé, we were now owners of OUR house!
Once the keys were in our pockets, it was time for 6 months of work, 6 months after which our first 2 gîtes were built. Hardly the time to say "wow" and we were sold out. That's when our dream finally came true.
Every year we made new works to enlarge, one, two and then 3 guest rooms. Each time, the same warm welcome from our holidaymakers.
In 2019, we decided to completely rethink the domain to give it its final configuration today.
Our main line of thought was to put ourselves in the place of holidaymakers and to ask ourselves what we would like to find in a guest room or gîte, both in terms of services and the atmosphere and energy that emanates from it.
The first two gites have been transformed into guest rooms to complete the 3 already present. Then we created a gîte in the former smokehouse of the estate. And finally we have created a common room for our B&B holidaymakers, a real relaxation area. It allows you to warm up by the fire in winter and take full advantage of the beautiful warm summer evenings.
Today we are very proud to welcome you in our home, which we hope will be as cosy as possible. We wanted a place where loving couples and parents with young children could meet. For parents with teenagers, don't worry, we have thought of everything, the wifi connection is perfect!
We hope we have succeeded in achieving this goal and we look forward to meeting you to share it with you.
