Le Clos des Monniers – Gîte de la Chouette

In the heart of the Normandy bocage, the Gîte de la Chouette welcomes you to a charming old farmhouse, set in the peaceful countryside, where heritage, nature and a relaxed way of life come together.
Housed in one of the farmstead’s original buildings, this characterful gîte can accommodate up to 6 people. Exposed beams, a cosy atmosphere and a wood-burning stove combine to create a comfortable and authentic setting, ideal for a getaway with family or friends.
The gîte features:
– three bedrooms: one on the ground floor (with two 90 cm beds that can be joined to form a 180 cm bed) and its own bathroom, and two on the second floor (one bedroom with two 90 cm beds and one bedroom with a 140 cm bed) with a shared bathroom;
– a cosy living room with a wood-burning stove and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen;
– a utility room and a toilet on each floor.
Outside, you can enjoy a private terrace with garden furniture, a barbecue and outdoor games, as well as a shared garden.
The name of the gîte refers to the owls that frequent the area and can sometimes be seen or heard at dusk. It’s a little nod to the surrounding countryside and the peaceful atmosphere of Le Clos des Monniers.
Ideally situated for exploring Normandy, the gîte is close to Caen, Bayeux and the major D-Day sites, notably Arromanches-les-Bains and the beaches of the Normandy coast, as well as the ‘Swiss Normandy’ region. A perfect location for alternating days of exploration, heritage visits, walks and moments of relaxation.
