A private weekend or holiday home to rent, 15 minutes from Deauville, away from the hustle and bustle of the town, with a maximum capacity of 4 adults. It’s also a cocoon away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, often rented by two people.

The house, with its discreet luxury, has been designed on the principle of a second home to rent for a weekend, a week, a holiday… In short, for the duration of your stay, you’re at home!

At odds with the blue paradise of the islands at the end of the world, La Vie de Cocagne shares with you, all year round, summer and winter, all the art of living in Normandy, by the sea or in the countryside.

La Vie de Cocagne is also a song by Jeanne Moreau, who, while living in Paris, shares her dream of leaving Paris for a weekend to go to a small corner of nature and enjoy the delights of country life, whatever the season.
When we listened to the lyrics of the song, we thought it perfectly summed up our state of mind and all the values we wanted to share with our guests.

The Cathedral lounge (décor revised in 2025)
Very bright and very open onto the garden, the terraces, the jacuzzi on the terrace and the surrounding meadow, playground of our donkeys Chocolat and Kitty.

The living room has three sofas and a Napoleon III armchair, a wood-burning stove, a large flat-screen TV with Apple TV, free access to Netflix, Prime Video and Molotov, and a Sonos dock so you can watch a film in cinema conditions or simply play your music.

It opens onto the kitchen, living room and terrace and seats four.

The kitchen
Fully equipped, with two slate worktops, stainless steel appliances (fridge, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, ceramic hob, extractor fan, filter and Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle, mixer) and a complete set of pots and pans.

The bedrooms
The holiday home has two main bedrooms on the ground floor with en-suite bathrooms (shower).

The Yellow Room (refurbished in 2025)

Quality 160 cm bedding, large upholstered headboard, gilded porcelain wall lights, whitened wooden chest of drawers, wardrobe, antique Marrakech engravings, small Louis XVI pouffe, linen curtains with blackout lining, sea rush floor.

Private bathroom with Italian-style slate shower, towels, bathrobes and slippers. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are also provided on arrival.

A French window gives you a view over the meadow and access to a small private terrace.

On the west side, the Blue room (refurbished in 2026)

Quality 160 cm bedding, linen upholstered headboard, Jane Churchill stretched fabric, portraits, double curtains, sea rush on the floor.

Private bathroom with Italian-style slate shower, towels, bathrobe and slippers. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are also provided on arrival.

From this room, you can enjoy a view of the grassy garden.

Bed linen and towels, including bathrobes, are provided.
Cot, baby bath, relaxer and chamber pot can be provided on request.

The garden
The gîte has its own south-west-facing garden.

The garden has been laid out in the style of a priest’s garden, with a mixture of white flowers, boxwood, grasses, etc. It offers a full view of the meadow and surrounding countryside, in a very peaceful setting with no noise or visual disturbance.

There are two wooden terraces: one with a year-round heated Softub Jacuzzi and two teak deckchairs.
The other, on the south side, has a dining area for 6 people, Weber gas barbecue, large parasol in season, and garden furniture with two Iroko sofas with water-repellent cushions, coffee table and parasol in season.

The private car park has secure access to the property via a remote-controlled electric gate with automatic lighting.

La Vie de Cocagne is surrounded by stud farms. The village of Bonnebosq, on the Route du Cidre, is just 2 minutes away by car and 10 minutes on foot. It offers all the amenities you need for your stay (butcher, delicatessen, newsagent, bakery, chemist, florist, second-hand goods shop, etc.).

Around our typically Norman gîte, you can discover sunken lanes, half-timbered farmhouses and manor houses, orchards and horse farms, and the villages of Beaumont en Auge, Cambremer and Beuvron en Auge.

During your stay or weekend in Normandy, you’ll find yourself immersed in a veritable land of plenty, still producing famous cheeses (Pont l’Evêque, Camembert and Livarot), ciders and calvados, crème fraiche and seafood.

Just a few kilometres from our gîte, you can reach the Côte Fleurie: Deauville and its famous boardwalk, Honfleur and its old dock, Trouville and its famous fish market… these three emblematic towns of Normandy offer you the chance to enjoy shops, restaurants, markets and sporting or cultural activities all year round.
