Take a flight in this vast building on the Cotentin peninsula, where airships used to be stored!

Twelve of these hangars were built by the French army during World War I. They were used for the maintenance of airships. Today, the Hangar in Écausseville, near Cherbourg, is the only one left. The 150m-long, 30m-high building can be visited during the summer months, and is also used for quirky Aéroplume fights, an airship with fluttering wings piloted by an individual performer. It’s like something out of a Jules Verne novel and is well worth a try!
