The Maison des Illustres (‘home of the famous’) label is awarded by the Ministry of Culture to the houses of famous people across France, and among those awarded in Normandy are the former homes of of Claude Monet, Jean-François Millet, Abbé Pierre, Gustave Flaubert and Christian Dior.
