Following Normandy’s successful Food Tour in Hastings, Windsor, Norwich and Canterbury early May, the Normandy Tourist Board will now be paying our closest neighbours a visit on 1st and 2nd October for the Corn Riots Festival in St Helier, Jersey. Come along to enjoy the best of our food, drink and music!
St Helier, it’s good to be back!
Normandy and Jersey share strong historical and cultural ties, and the island lies just 14 miles from the Cotentin Peninsula. The Corn Riots Festival, La Folle d’Avoût, is taking place again in 2022, and will run from Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October. The flavour of the festival will be a blend of Jersey’s historic Norman heritage and roots with the brilliance of the island’s contemporary cultural scene. It’s therefore only natural that the Normandy Tourist Board has chosen to take part in this year’s event, in association with the Maison de la Normandie et de la Manche. It will be the perfect occasion for locals and visitors to enjoy the region’s food and drink with live music and family-fun activities.
A true taste of Normandy
During two jam-packed days, we’ll be showcasing the true flavours of Normandy on Parade Gardens. Sign yourself up for a cider tasting and experience a journey from the traditional methods through to styles defining the future. If you’re a beer lover, you’ll want to taste Ragnar’s selection of Normandy ales.
Fancy something sweet? Bring the whole family for a Normandy sweet treats tasting, tucking into Cara-Meuh caramels, La Maison Du Biscuit cakes, Jeannette Madeleines or Caramel De Pommes Dieppois spread. More of a cheese friend? We’ve got you covered with a cheese tasting ticking off the classics like Camembert, Neufchatel, Livarot and Isigny Mimolette. Or why not get into the weekend spirit and chance a calvados flight tasting a wealth of apple brandies.
Still hungry for more? Who can resist dessert, especially when it’s Caravanille preparing delicious fresh brioches topped with Normandy delicacies. So, save the date, tell your friends, invite your family and pop by to say Hello. We’d love to see you!
Get ready to rock your socks off!
On Saturday at 5pm, don’t miss For the Hackers, who will be performing for the very first time in Jersey! Hailing from Dieppe, Normandy, these indie-rockers have been active for about a decade now, and have numerous hits to their name. Their blend of pop, rock and electro with French lyrics is guaranteed to impress. These music devils have the capacity to move the audience emotionally, and physically! Their live shows are powerful, engaging, and their chemistry as a band is very visible. A truly unmissable act, especially as For the Hackers will be playing on top of their solar-powered bus!

The Normandy Tourist Board will visit St Helier on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October 2022. You’ll find us on Parade Gardens from 9am to 7pm.
