THE POINTE D’AGON-COUTAINVILLE & THE SIENNE BAY
Here and there, the line of sand dunes along the west coast of Cotentin is interrupted by eight natural harbours. This geographic configuration is the only one of its kind on the Continent. The River Sienne flows into the Channel at Regnéville-sur-Mer creating a vast, brackish estuary that covers over 900 hectares between Agon Spit and Montmartin-sur-Mer. Pale-bellied brent geese, oystercatchers and Kentish plovers profit from this vast expanse to pass the winter or reproduce.
