« Je suis » (lit "I Am) is a farming business located in Bois-Normand-près-Lyre that grows and transforms nettles. Here, our agriculture is not mechanised and everything is done by hand. The farm has been certified organic in November 2019.
Nettle is grown for its high content in vitamins, minerals and proteins. For 100g of nettle, you have: 160 mg of calcium (twice as more than in 100g of orange), 473 mg of magnesium (four times more than in 100g of brown bread), 23.10 mg of iron (six times more than in 100g of spinach) and 1,940 mg of calcium (sixteen times more than for 100g of cow’s milk).
Nettle is also recognized for its skin and scalp protective function. It soothes skin conditions (acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes). It is a hair toning conditioner that helps hair growth and slows down hair loss.
“Je suis” sells nettle tea and nettle salts for its nutrients. It also sells soaps, shampoo bars and a shaving soap to make the most of the nettle's skin and hair benefits.
The cold-processed soaps are made using 100% organic vegetable oils and essential oils for fragrance, and are enhanced with our home-grown nettle powder.
Germain Canville, producer, organises guided tours of his crops and his processing room by appointment.

These products are sold by appointment and will soon be available on some weekly markets in the area around Neuve-Lyre.
