Accessed via an impressive avenue, where two or three cars can park, in the bays marked for the purpose, the site includes a gatehouse (or small castle) with two 16th century turrets, linked by a semi-circular arch leading to the entrance courtyard. The second, pedestrian, gate, after crossing the moat, gives access to the cour d’honneur (not usually open to the public). This includes a third turret, and leads on to the building that was redesigned in the 17th and 19th centuries. You can walk right round the property, outside the moat, which widens to the west, creating a full reflection of the whole building.
