Initially a chapel belonging to the St Evroult Notre Dame des Bois Benedictine Abbey, in the 13th century Saint Gilles de Fougy became one of the chapels of the Prémontré Priory in Silly en Gouffern, according to five Papal bulls.
The choral area is what makes it unique (late 16th - early 17th century): a stone altarpiece around a Baroque wooden altar and a series of arches with 26 important figures surrounding the Holy Trinity.

An exceptional site in Lower Normandy.
