Normandy is a well-known mountain biking destination for the variety of its landscapes and great trails options. Whether it’s family-friendly rides on flat terrain or more challenging mountain biking on rugged terrain you’re after, all five of Normandy’s départements offer stunning cycle routes and mountain biking trails to suit all abilities.
The Calvados département is one of the ‘must ride’ areas for mountain biking. It features several mountain bike sites, some of which are labelled by the French Cyclotourism Federation, such as in the bocage virois or the valleys of the Suisse Normande for more challenging riding. Whether you’re an adrenaline-seeking speed addict, a cross country fanatic craving a leg-stretching long ride, or simply want to experience off-road biking in a beautiful and inspiring environment — the Eure département has got the mountain biking trails for you, such as the Chemin des sources bleues trail in Aizier or the Chemin du Rossignol in Saint-Philbert-sur-Risle. The Manche département offers a striking collection of cycling and mountain biking opportunities, with more than 100 mountain bike trails that showcase the area’s diverse landscapes from Tatihou to the Mont-Saint-Michel, via Saint-Lô or Villedieu-Les-Poêles. Votre promenade commence à côté de l’église d’Equemauville, place de l’amitié. Face à elle, suivre le chemin des noisettes, puis le chemin de la cour l’Abbé Lebedel, puis celui de la butte qui vous guide vers le Val des Moulineaux.

Suivre à droite le chemin du Val des Moulineaux. Tourner à gauche juste avant la station de pompage.

Le quitter pour le chemin du Vieu d’Ô à droite. Attention, ce chemin peut être humide ! Parvenir au ruisseau de la Claire.

En sortant du chemin du Vieu d’Ô, vous entrez dans le quartier des Varêts, le quitter à droite pour entrer dans le Clos du Vert Galant. Tourner aussitôt à gauche pour une nouvelle voie qui mène au chemin des Monts.

Suivre à droite le chemin des Monts qui monte vers le Carrefour Historique.

Prendre à gauche vers le Buquet. Traverser une route pour continuer sur un chemin de terre. Puis, tourner à droite pour rejoindre le chemin des Monts.

Traverser le chemin des Monts, tourner aussitôt à gauche et emprunter le chemin de terre. A la fourche garder votre droite.

Tourner à droite puis traverser la D289. Prendre le chemin en face vers le lavoir du Canet. Après cette halte rafraîchissante, poursuivre vers le centre équestre du Ramier puis tourner à gauche. Suivre le chemin du Ramier puis celui du Marelot.

En haut, tourner à droite puis de nouveau à droite pour retrouver le point départ.
