The coastal cycle route

The coastal cycle route is part of the EuroVelo 4, linking Kiev in Ukraine with Roscoff at the tip of Brittany, and should eventually provide a route along the Normandy coast from le Tréport to the Mont-Saint-Michel.

Albaster, Calvados and Eastern coast

The coastal route already offers many vantage points and places to visit in Normandy. This route follows the Alabaster coast in Seine-Maritime, from Le Tréport to Le Havre, the Calvados coast from Cabourg to Ouistreham (the Ouistreham - Omaha Beach section will be completed in 2015), then the Eastern coast of the Cotentin peninsula from Carentan to Chebourg, heading back south inland through Normandy's typical 'bocage' landscape arriving at the Mont-Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Not to be missed

  • Devastated in World War II, with to the boldness of its reconstruction, it’s been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Fécamp is both port, resort, ducal town, pilgrimage destination, art centre and the home of a famous liqueur.
  • This swish resort vaunts broad sands, a wide promenade and genteel airs. Such elements seduced the famed French novelist Marcel Proust.
