VENDEUVRE

Vendeuvre Jewell of 18th century Normandy.

Parks and gardens

A world of delightful surprises in a gem of a Normandy garden.
In this magical, magnificent setting, one garden leads on to another, never two alike. Formal French gardens, surprise water gardens with their amusing water jets, mysterious mazes, a grotto covered in 200,000 shells, topiary, an exotic garden, a kitchen garden and ice-house, a dovecote and fishpond on either side of a fine avenue of XVIIIth century lime trees - you will be surprised and delighted at every turn. To round off your visit, come and explore the inside of the château, with its kitchens and (in the Orangery) the finest collection of miniature furniture in the world. Tulip Festival in April. The grotto of 200,000 seashells.
