Sainte-Madeleine Church Tower

The construction of St Madeleine's Church started at the same time as the foundation of Verneuil itself by Henry Beauclerc, Duke of Normandy and King of England at the beginning of the 12th century. The tower was built at the end of the 15th century and then reached about 15 metres high. The Madeleine Tower is now a symbol of the town: seen from miles away, it is when night falls and its lights are turned on that the Tower reveals its wonderful details...
