Captured during the night of 5th and 6th June 1944, this bridge acquired its name in honour of the 6th British Airborne Division whose emblem was Pegasus. The bridge over the canal is a replica of the authentic Pegasus Bridge, which stands in the nearby Pegasus Memorial park.
