Parc et Château de Miromesnil

Parks and gardens

In a stand of historic beech trees, and sheltered by the Château de Miromesnil (XVIth-XVIIth centuries), this flower-filled potager is a fine example of the traditional kitchen garden. Within its XVIIth century walls, grassy paths flanked by mixed borders separate four huge beds, with their neat rows of flowers, fruit and vegetables. This potager won the Grand Prix 2011 de la Société Nationale d’Horticulture de France for its combination of traditional gardening and artistic use of colour. In the park, the grass is mown to suggest the shapes of a classical French garden. Come for a stroll beneath cedar of Lebanon, copper beech and other remarkable trees, and be bowled over by Miromesnil’s charm !
