New Museum of Prehistory at Rânes:
This is the only museum in Normandy entirely devoted to human prehistory. It is located on a major site for Neanderthal knowledge, covering over 1,500 acres according to current estimates, it is one of the most extensive in Europe.
The advanced technological survey gives a better understanding of the techniques used by Neanderthals to make their tools and their system of thinking in order to grasp the subject.
The complete refurbishment of the museum has allowed a new setting for exhibits, using beautiful illustrations, a local geology room and rooms for Lithic tools. The museum provides everyone with the appropriate level of reading and interest to suit them. For youngsters, there is the dig room and several games.
