In 1885, a 40-ton whale was washed ashore on the Côte de Nacre at the "Brèche du Moulin" in Luc-sur-Mer. After its flesh was removed, its skeleton was placed in the town’s municipal park. A whale museum was opened on the site to increase understanding of this huge mammal. After visiting the museum, visitors can walk through the park with its different species of trees and birds.
