A journey to the heart of the mountain La Montagne du Roule. Output as underground hiking, discovery of the environment. You will discover a part of the fortifications dug during World War II. At that time, the purpose of the underground, which was equipped with guns, was to protect the largest artificial harbour of the world : the harbour of Cherbourg. Classified as a historic monument since 1995, this site welcomes you in a very special atmosphere. Caving helmet equipped with a headlamp, the visit is supervised and guided by a guide. Visitors should arrive at the entrance of the Battery du Roule 10 minutes before the departure of the tour.
