Net lace embroidery, known as artistic net, built the reputation of the small character town of La Perrière between 1850 and 1950. Pearl lace was very popular during the inter-war years. The great Paris fashion houses, like Paul Poiret, sought their supplies from La Perrière.
An exhibition in the Tourist Office, featuring videos and exhibits, explains this unique craft.
