Church of Notre-Dame

Religious buildings

Saint-Lô’s Notre Dame Church was severely affected by the bombings of June 1944. The restoration of the flamboyant Gothic-style building retains its war wounds. Note the curious, finely-carved exterior pulpit adjoining the north wall of the chancel, the Second World War shell driven into the stone, and the 15th and 16th century stained glass rescued from disaster.
