PINTERVILLE

Château de Pinterville

Chateaux

In the Norman Eure Valley, explore an unexpected property.
This little known building, made of bricks and stone, entices visitors to follow a guided tour of the entrance hall and the grounds, which are planted with splendid tall trees. It allows visitors to understand the place's very old history, dating back to the 13th century, and the history of the chateau. Inside, an exhibition completes the visit with the story of the life and work of Pierre Le Pesant de Boisguilbert, a contemporary of Louis XIV and the father of modern liberal economy.
As we travel back in time, we realise that great names are associated with the chateau's history such as Saint Louis IX in 1248 who donated the manor house and the land of Pinterville to one of the Archbishop of Rouen's nephews.
