Souleuvre Viaduct - AJ Hackett Normandie

Pets accepted
Built according to plans by Gustave Eiffel, the rail bridge over the river formerly linked the towns of Vire and Caen. Only the metal roadway was destroyed, the piers are intact. A new suspended footbridge serves as a platform for bungy jumping and the giant zip-line. A comprehensive 1h30 adventure trail is also available on the site. Open every day from late June to mid September and on weekends from mid March to late November. A third activity now enhances our "sensational" offer: the Swing, a pendular jump. A new suspended bridge is used as a platform for bungee jumping, a giant zip-line and swing jump. A fourth activity now enhances our offer: Top Swing, from a height of 200 feet.

The Souleuvre viaduct, thought to be the work to Gustave Eiffel, is situated at the heart of green valleys. Erected as a railway bridge in 1891, the central section was removed in 1970 leaving only six of its pillars intact today. Since 1990, bungy jumping has given the bridge a new lease of life. A 140m-long suspension bridge and platform were added, transforming the structure into a unique work of art overlooking the Souleuvre River, 4m deep at this point. More than 10,000 professionally coached people take the 61m-leap from here each year. Other activity: the scable (giant zip-line), a 400m-long high wire run that crosses the valley at speeds of up to 100km/hr; 'Le Swing'. A giant swing for 1,2 or 3 people which goes from 0 to 130km/h in 3.5 seconds. The 'Top Swing' (same principle as the giant swing except you depart solo from a height of 61m). New: A 1km long Alpine coaster, the only one in Western France (3.50€ per ride). Open at weekends and Public Holidays from April to November. Daily in July and August. From December to February on Saturday afternoon. Dining room available on site.
