LE HAVRE

In the mirror of Danaé -works of Belugou

After an exhibition in 2017, around the precious contemporary art, the city of Le Havre wishes to continue the confrontation between the old and contemporary luxury, thus supporting a specific and rare production.
The exceptional architecture of the house of the shipowner, is timeless in its manner to welcome the pomp.
Belugou offers us an immersion in Ovid's Metamorphoses, focusing on the myth of Danae, so represented in the works of the eighteenth century. It is by taking a process itself very much in the spotlight in the eighteenth century: glass églomisé, that the artist enters the House of the owner in the expression of his luxuries.
17 works are installed elegantly in the rooms of the house. The visitor is thus taken to an ancient art now reintroduced by the hand of a living artist.
Virtuoso of the drawing, inhabited by the spirit of the decorations, nourished of a classical culture until the erudition, Belugou invests with a dazzling ease the most unpublished or extraordinary historical places as the Royal Opera of Versailles, the Teatro San Carlo de Naples, the Royal National Theater in London, the operas of Los Angeles, Oman, Monte Carlo ... In his career too, the fashion illustration for Vogue and GQ, the jewels for Harry Winston in Paris and New York . On screen are costumes and jewelry created for Mick Jagger, Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman, Laetitia Casta ...
The precious decorative arts reflect the creative strength of his work. His last exhibition in the Premonstratensian Abbey at Pont-à-Mousson was major.
