Cultural Season - The soloists of the Easter Festival - Franz Schubert

...before delivering a concert of Schubert, including The Beautiful Miller, for flute and piano and the Trio n°1 for violin, cello and piano.
The variations for flute and piano, a miracle of charm, virtuosity and inspiration, follow the 18th lied of the Beautiful Miller, “dried flowers”. Any flute potentialities are greatly discovered. This duo, rarely performed, was composed in 1824 for Ferdinand Bogner, friend of Schubert, and is always a revelation for the audience.
The Trio n° 1 opus 99 of 1827 is one of the purest and most popular masterpieces by Schubert, but he did not manage to hear it played by an orchestra. Discovering it was a choc for Robert Schumann, who wrote: “When we listen to it, all the misery of the human existence magically disappear.”
