LE HAVRE

A little history of opera, opus 2

The opera, all sails Outside
Laurent Dehors, jazz composer and multiinstrumentist plunges with delight into the lyrical repertoire. From Bizet to Purcell to a slam version of a Flemish opera, he invites us to browse some of the most famous songs such as lesser known pieces. He is accompanied on stage by four musicians who pass with talent from one instrument to another: glockenspiel and balafon, trombone and tuba, banjo and guitar, piano and prepared piano ... Together, they give the reply to Tineke Van Ingelgem, soprano solar who likes to combine the accents of opera and jazz.
The arrangements are as demanding as they are respectful and give the secular works a fresh look, relying on the swing of certain pieces and the spleen of other movements. In this musical exploration, Laurent Dehors goes on side roads, amuses himself to create a joyful or poetic musical shift on compositions of Bernstein, Mozart or Verdi. A small audacious and light story at a time!
