The participants are about to register and buy their ticket for the Blue Train rally, taking place next September ... a new and unprecedented challenge... a remake of the famous Train Bleu, making rich English people travel from the English Channel to the French Riviera. At that time, Wolf Barnato, the President of Bentley, had tried in vain to beat the speed record of this legendary train, giving its name to the very famous restaurant of Gare de Lyon in Paris…but the first to beat the train speed record - by 20 min - was Dudley Noble, driving a Rover Light Six!
At the start of the race, you’ll find some Bentley, including two amazing 1928 Le Mans models and a 1924 model, a 1938 SS 100 Jaguar and 2 Lagonda M45s. Further participants are 2 Aston Martin, a 1934 Mk ll and a 2-litre 15/98 sports car, two Riley, a 1935 Riley Sprite , which has already proven its worth during the latest Alpine Trial and Flying Scotsman, and a 1938 Riley 16/4 Special. Finally, the passionate for nice cars will also appreciate a 1937 American Cadillac, which has done wonders during the latest Alpine Trial. The 1936 Aero 50 cannot be forgotten either: an extremely rare car that can just be found in the Czech Republic.
The itinerary will allow the different teams to cross the most beautiful Norman roads, starting from Deauville, before reaching the Loire castles. Then, a stop-over is made to the East to discover the Bourgogne vineyards, and another to the South close to the Saône and Rhône valleys, Ardèche and Drôme without forgetting the Mont-Ventoux and its extraordinary view over the Alps. This journey will end in Provence in the middle of lavender fields, before reaching the Mediterranean Sea and the famous Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes.
