Lace up your walking boots and get ready to cross the bay at low tide to reach this beautiful small island.

La tour Vauban sur l'île Tatihou

on treasure island

Located just opposite the charming port of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, voted ‘France’s Favourite Village’ in 2019, Tatihou is a small island which you can reach by an amphibious craft, although it is also possible to walk there over the local oyster beds at low tide. Every year in August, it hosts the quirky folk music festival ‘Les Traversées Tatihou’. The island is also home to a maritime museum, botanical gardens, a beautiful bird reserve and a UNESCO-listed Vauban tower.
